Dallas Stars CEO Brad Alberts admitted the hockey team has “lost customers” and seen a decline in season-ticket holders over their support for the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement during the 2020 season.
“The Stars have lost customers over their support of Black Lives Matter and protests over racial inequality, president and CEO Brad Alberts said Friday afternoon,” reports the Dallas News.
“But we/I stand by our organization’s commitment and support our players 100% to express their views,” Alberts said.
“The Stars did not play Game 4 of their second-round series against Colorado on Friday night because the NHL — at the direction of its players — postponed playoff games previously scheduled for Thursday and Friday. Game 4 has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. Sunday,” adds the newspaper.
“Black and Brown communities continue to face real, painful experiences,” the league said in a statement last week announcing the delay. “The NHL and NHLPA recognize that much work remains to be done before we can play an appropriate role in a discussion centered on diversity, inclusion and social justice.
“We understand that the tragedies involving Jacob Blake, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and others require us to recognize this moment. We pledge to work to use our sport to influence positive change in society.”

CNN host Don Lemon weighed-in Tuesday on the civil unrest sweeping American cities; saying the riots “have to stop” because it’s helping Donald Trump in the polls.
“This is a blind spot for Democrats. Democrats are ignoring this problem or are hoping it will go away. It’s not going to go away,” said Lemon. “The problem is not going to be fixed by the election. What they can do, maybe Joe Biden is afraid to do it, he’s got to address it.”
