According to Fox News, “House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was slammed on social media over her recitation of a poem written by U2 frontman Bono as a tribute to the people of Ukraine on St. Patrick’s Day.”
“Ireland’s sorrow and pain, Is now the Ukraine, and Saint Patrick’s name now Zelenskyy,” Pelosi read at the Friends of Ireland luncheon to folks who were just trying to eat lunch in peace. Pelosi stressed that Bono has “been a very Irish part of our lives.”
Pelosi got some heat on Twitter for, perhaps, the most cringey video of the year.
