President Donald Trump presided over the signing of a historic ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia that he personally helped broker after a deadly border clash this summer.

The Kuala Lumpur Peace Accords, signed Sunday alongside the leaders of Thailand, Cambodia, and Malaysia, officially ended the five-day conflict that killed dozens and displaced hundreds of thousands.

Standing before a banner reading “Delivering Peace,” Trump declared, “On behalf of the United States, I’m proud to help settle this conflict and forge a future for the region.”

The president said the border battle was just one of eight wars his administration has brought to a close since returning to the White House in January — a record he touted as proof that American strength can secure global stability.

Trump revealed that the deal was hammered out from his Scottish golf resort at Turnberry, recalling, “Turnberry is a great place, but I said this is much more important than playing a round of golf. So we sat there all day long, making phone calls.”

The ceremony also featured a moment of silence for Thailand’s beloved Queen Mother Sirikit, who died Friday at 93. Trump praised her as a woman of “dignity, kindness and grace.”

Under the peace deal, Thailand will release 18 detained Cambodian soldiers, while ASEAN observers will monitor compliance. Trump thanked Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for facilitating the talks — and Anwar returned the compliment.

“The world needs leaders who promote peace strongly, and to achieve that you have to break some rules, as you did today,” Anwar told Trump, referencing the president’s unconventional decision to ride with him from the airport in defiance of security protocol.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet hailed Trump’s “tireless efforts” and even reiterated his plan to nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul called the agreement “the building blocks for a lasting peace.”

And Trump wasn’t done. After the ceremony, he signed a reciprocal trade agreement with Cambodia and a framework deal with Thailand, cementing America’s return as a power broker in Southeast Asia.
