THE AGE-OLD QUESTION: Nearly 75% of Americans Want Age Limit for Elected Officials

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.08.22

And most are in favor of a limit that would ban Joe from office.

According to a CBS News/YouGov released on Thursday, 73% of Americans believe there should be age limits for elected officials —most suggesting the cutoff should be 70 or 80 years old.

From The Daily Caller:

Among Democrats, 71% believed there should be a maximum age limit for elected officials, while 75% of independents and 75% of Republicans concurred.

When asked what age the maximum limit should be, 70 was the choice most selected by respondents. Forty percent of those in favor of an age limit chose 70, while 18% chose a maximum age of 80. An additional 26% of respondents who supported an age limit wanted to ban people over 60 from serving in public office, and another 8% wanted a cut-off age of 50.

Fully 67% of the total U.S. population favor a maximum age limit that would bar the 79-year-old President Joe Biden from serving a second term as president or even finishing his current term.

Biden is the oldest sitting President in U.S. history; his mental and physical health are constantly being called into question, despite the White House insisting discussions about the President’s health are off limits.
