Gregg Abbott (R-TX) is out to put a stop to President Biden’s unconstitutional overreach. The Texas governor filed a preliminary injunction on Tuesday with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas to end vaccine mandates for Texas National Guard members, the Daily Wire reports.
“Governor Greg Abbott is the commander-in-chief of Texas’s militia. His orders to the Texas National Guard reflect a firm resolve that COVID-19 vaccination must always be voluntary. President Joe Biden thinks COVID-19 vaccines should instead be mandatory, and he is now trying to impose his will on members of the Texas National Guard,” the preliminary injunction says.
“The Governor of Texas does not take orders from the President of the United States,” Abbott said in a statement.
“President Biden must be held accountable for his unconscionable willingness to hollow out the Texas National Guard with another illegal vaccine mandate. As the commander-in-chief of Texas’ militia, I will deploy every legal tool in defense of these American heroes,” he added.
The Governor of Texas does not take orders from the President.
