A lone gunman who reportedly “swore allegiance to ISIS” before taking hostages in a food market in southern France was killed by police Friday; murdering at least three people and injuring a dozen more.
According to Fox News, the suspect attacked one person in a nearby town before stealing their vehicle and driving to the town of Trebes; opening fire on a group of police officers while screaming “Allahu Akbar!”
The gunman eventually barricaded himself in a local supermarket, taking nearly a dozen hostages.

The ISIS sympathizer reportedly told police he wanted to secure the release of an Islamic Fighter currently in French custody; the lone surviving attacker of the devastating Parisian nightclub assault that killed over 130 civilians in 2015.
France has been on a heightened state of alert since then, with nearly 200 French citizens murdered by terror operations throughout the country.
