According to a New York Post report, multiple police officers were wounded after an active shooter opened fire near a synagogue in Baltimore on Tuesday afternoon.
Officers rushed to a block along Park Heights Avenue in the city’s northwest after reports of a gunman firing shots from a nearby window close to Agudath Israel of Baltimore.
During the response, several officers were struck by gunfire.
One officer was transported to a hospital shock trauma unit, while another suffered a non-life-threatening injury, according to police.
Authorities said the suspected gunman was also shot during the confrontation, though officials have not yet released details about the suspect’s condition.
The scene remained highly active as officers secured the area.
Baltimore Police Department ordered residents to avoid the surrounding neighborhood while investigators worked the scene and ensured there was no ongoing threat.
