SWEETHEART DEAL! NYC DA Gives 6-Month Gift to Man Charged in Brutal Anti-Semitic Beating

posted by Hannity Staff - 1.12.23

Bragg once again lets the bad guy off easy.

According to a report from The New York Post, New York City District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office has offered a suspect charged in the brutal anti-Semitic beating of a Jewish man in Midtown a plea deal to serve just 6 months.

Even though the suspect says “I would do it again.”

From The New York Post:

Waseem Awawdeh — who defiantly said “I would do it again” after his arrest in the cowardly assault on Joseph Borgen near a pro-Israel rally in May 2021 — has gotten a six-month plea deal offer from the controversial Big Apple prosecutor.

That would be a slap on the wrist compared to the up to 10 years he would face if convicted.

Awawdeh, 24, was part of a gang of brutes busted in the attack on Borgen, who was wearing a yarmulke as he walked to a pro-Israel rally in Midtown Manhattan.

Borgen, an Upper East Side accountant, said his attackers called him a “dirty Jew” and yelled “F–k Israel, Hamas is going to kill all of you” as they pummeled him at Broadway and West 49th Street on May 20, 2021.

A quote from David Schoen, who represented the victim:

“The deal offered to this man who was caught on video committing a brutal hate crime beating against another New Yorker just because he is Jewish and who then reportedly vowed that he would do it again, sends a chillingly dangerous message from the Manhattan DA, especially in this environment of rising violence against Jews.”

“And on this backdrop this DA Bragg makes a deal like I mentioned to a guy who has vowed to do it again.  Really unbelievable.”

Antisemitic attacks increased 41% in 2022.
