President Donald Trump handed a $100 cash tip to a DoorDash driver after she delivered his favorite McDonald’s order to the White House on Monday.
The driver, identified as Sharon Simmons by DoorDash, delivered two bags of food to Trump on the colonnade outside the West Wing to promote the president’s “No Tax on Tips” policy.
“This doesn’t look staged,” Trump joked as cameras rolled.
“The no tax on tips is something special. It’s very special,” he said, highlighting his proposal just days before the tax filing deadline.
Moments later, the president made his point with cash.
Asked whether the driver received a good tip, Trump reached into his pocket, pulled out a $100 bill, and handed it directly to her.
“Yes,” Simmons replied.
