DeSantis steps up for Texas…
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced on Thursday that he would be deploying the Florida State Guard to Texas in order to help Texas Governor Greg Abbott secure the southern border.
The governor will also send around 1,000 Florida National Guard members.
“We’re providing up to one battalion of Florida National Guard as well as our first-ever deployment of the Florida State Guard. And the goal is to help Texas fortify this border,” DeSantis stated. “Help them strengthen the barricade. Help them add barriers. Help them add the wire that they need to so that we can stop this invasion once and for all. The states have to band together to be able to defend the rule of law.”
“Florida has been assisting at the southern border since 2021, and we are sending more support from both the @FLStateGuard up to one battalion of @FLGuard. Their mission will be to assist Texas in erecting barriers at the border to stop the invasion of illegal aliens,” DeSantis shared on X.
