During Wednesday night’s Fox News Trump Town Hall, co-host Bret Baier asked former President Trump to clarify remarks he made about the economy this week.
“You said this week in an interview that if there is an economic crash, you hope it happens now because you don’t want to be Herbert Hoover. You’re not saying you’re hoping for a crash, just to be clear?” Baier asks Trump.
“No. I think this: I think the economy is horrible except the stock market is going up. And I think the stock market is going up because I’m leading Biden in all of the polls,” Trump tells Baier. “When you’re leading in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin — overall, we’re leading by a lot, nationwide…I think if I wasn’t leading, the stock market would be 25% lower, and think frankly, if I didn’t win, the stock market would crash.”
