STATE OF THE UNION PREVIEW: America at 250: Strong, Prosperous and Respected [REPORT]

A big night for the POTUS.

According to a New York Post report, President Donald Trump is set to use Tuesday’s State of the Union address to highlight Americans he says have benefited from his policies, outline accomplishments from the past year, and preview new initiatives aimed at lowering costs for families.

The speech will center on the theme “America at 250: Strong, Prosperous and Respected,” marking the upcoming 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, according to White House officials.

Administration officials said Trump will announce policy proposals designed to address affordability, an issue Republicans view as central heading into the November midterm elections and one voters consistently rank among their top concerns.

Trump has been rehearsing his remarks since the weekend, briefly pausing Sunday morning to congratulate the U.S. men’s hockey team after its Olympic gold medal win over Canada.

Press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the address will blend emotional storytelling with lighter moments and is expected to run at least 90 minutes.

“He’s going to lay out a very ambitious agenda, I think, for the working people of this country to make America more affordable and prosperous and safe and make the American dream more attainable,” Leavitt told reporters at the White House.

“You’re going to hear a speech that is a celebration of 250 years of our nation and our nation’s independence,” she added. “You’re going to hear the president share tear-jerking stories of American heroes past and present who really exemplify what it means to be a patriotic American.”

The address represents the president’s largest annual television audience — 36.6 million viewers watched last year’s speech to Congress — giving Trump a major platform to argue that Republican policies are best positioned to address cost-of-living concerns while blaming Democrats and former President Joe Biden for economic challenges.

A senior administration official said the White House aims to sharpen its messaging ahead of the election cycle.

“We have to tell our story better,” the official said.

Trump is also expected to promote his legislative agenda, including what allies describe as the “Big Beautiful Bill,” along with programs such as “Trump Accounts,” which provide $1,000 seed funding for newborns, and tax changes affecting tipped workers, overtime earners, seniors and car buyers.

The president is expected to highlight individual stories, including Pennsylvania waitress Megan Hemhouser and her husband, a heavy machinery operator, whom administration allies say saw income rise after federal taxes on tips and overtime earnings were eliminated.

Erika Kirk has also been invited as one of President Trump’s guests.
