CBS’ News host Lesley Stahl found herself in hot-water Monday following her combative interview with President Trump over the weekend; falsely claiming former President Obama had never “separated families” along the United States’ southern border with Mexico.
“What about the forced separation of children,” asked Stahl.
“Yeah. Well, that was the same as the Obama law. You know, Obama had the same thing,” fired-back the president.
“It was on the books, but he didn’t enforce it. You–enforced it,” she added.
One major problem for Stahl: The facts don’t lie.
“President Barack Obama separated parents from their children at the border. Obama prosecuted mothers for coming to the United States illegally. He fast tracked deportations. And yes, he housed unaccompanied children in tent cities,” writes Real Clear Politics in June 2018.
“This is not some new phenomenon suddenly imposed by the Trump administration. It happened during the Obama, Bush, and Clinton administrations, too,” added the Heritage Foundation.

ACOSTA UNHINGED: CNN Reporter ‘CLARIFIES’ Trump Supporter Smear
CNN senior White House correspondent Jim Acosta found himself in hot-water this week; attempting to clarify his comments that offended Trump supporters and GOP voters across the country.
The network star took to twitter to explain his incendiary remarks revealed by a recent interview with Variety, where he blasted the President’s supporters as not having “all their faculties.”
“The problem is that people around the country don’t know it’s an act. They’re not in on the act and they take what he says very seriously. They take attacks from Sean Spicer and Sarah Sanders, and what they do to us on a daily basis, very seriously,” Acosta said. “They don’t have all their faculties and in some cases their elevator might not hit all floors.”
Acosta backtracked from those comments Wednesday, asserting “As you can plainly see, I’m not referring to Trump supporters.”
Regarding my interview with Variety, my comments have been twisted by some outlets. As you can plainly see, I'm not referring to Trump supporters. I am talking about people who threaten journalists. Links to transcript and video below. https://t.co/SpEBiyVyQd pic.twitter.com/KZ7tkllEHQ

ARMAGEDDON AGAIN: Pelosi Says ‘CIVILIZATION AT RISK’ in 2018 Midterms
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi doubled-down on her anti-Trump rhetoric this week, saying “civilization as we know it as at risk” should the Republicans continue to lead Congress following the 2018 midterm elections.
Pelosi was speaking with Rolling Stone magazine when she was asked to comment on how the Democrats were prepared to flip districts won by President Trump in 2016; saying “How do you narrow it down?”
“Civilization as we know it today is at risk in this election. We have to win. We have to win. So you can’t spread your money too thinly, because you can run the risk,” said the leading Democrat.
“If the election were today – no question we would win. But you have to be aware of the undercurrents. Because you don’t know what can come along – and what comes along eclipses what you’re doing,” she added.
Pelosi’s comments come as the over-hyped “blue wave” predicted for this November continues to crash and burn, with some polls showing the once double-digit Democrat advantage reduced to just a few points.
