SQUAD DENIED? Israel May Deny Reps. Omar, Tlaib from Entering the Country Over Boycott Support

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.15.19

The Israeli government may deny access to controversial Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar from the Jewish State in the coming weeks; citing their vocal support for anti-Israeli boycotts.

“An Israeli government official decided Thursday that U.S. Reps. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., and Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., should be barred from entering the country for a planned visit this weekend, according to Israeli media,” reports Fox News.

“The two freshman congresswomen support the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement (BDS), a pro-Palestinian advocacy effort, and Israeli law says those supporting boycotts of the country may be denied entry. The decision to enforce the law against Tlaib and Omar was reportedly made by Israeli Interior Minister Arye Deri, but a formal decision and announcement have yet to be made as other parties weigh in,” adds Fox.

The House of Representatives overwhelmingly rejected Ilhan Omar’s anti-Israeli legislation Tuesday; ending her quest to boycott the Jewish State in a lopsided 398-to-17 landslide.

“The 398-to-17 vote, with five members voting present, came after a debate that was equally lopsided; no one in either party spoke against the measure. The House’s two most vocal backers of the boycott movement — Representatives Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, freshman Democrats and the first two Muslim women in Congress — did not participate in the floor debate,” reports the New York Times.

“However, earlier in the day, Ms. Tlaib, who is Palestinian-American, delivered an impassioned speech in defense of the boycott movement. She branded Israel’s policies toward Palestinians ‘racist’ and invoked American boycotts of Nazi Germany, among others, as an example of what she described as a legitimate economic protest to advance human rights around the world,” adds the Times.

“I stand before you as the daughter of Palestinian immigrants, parents who experienced being stripped of their human rights, the right to freedom of travel, equal treatment,” said Tlaib. “So I can’t stand by and watch this attack on our freedom of speech and the right to boycott the racist policies of the government and the state of Israel.”

The bill supported the BDS -or Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions- movement; a push to boycott Israeli goods and services to support Palestinian statehood.

“Americans of conscience have a proud history of participating in boycotts to advocate for human rights abroad including … boycotting Nazi Germany from March 1933 to October 1941 in response to the dehumanization of the Jewish people in the lead-up to the Holocaust,” Omar said in the resolution introduced Tuesday.

Congressman Lee Zeldin slammed the bill, saying “Israel is our best ally in the Mid East; a beacon of hope, freedom & liberty, surrounded by existential threats. Shame on Rep @Ilhan Omar for bringing her hateful twist on that reality to House Foreign today, propping up the BDS movement & blaming Israel for all of its challenges.”

BERNIE’S PLAN: Sanders Prepared to ‘Leverage’ US Aid to Stop Israeli Government’s ‘Racism’

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.14.19

2020 presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders escalated his war-of-words with the Israeli government this week; saying he is prepared to “leverage” US aid to end the Jewish State’s “racism” against Palestinians.

“The United States government gives a whole lot of money to Israel, and I think we can leverage that money to end some of the racism that we have recently seen in Israel,” Sanders said.

“The fault is not all with Israel, you have very poor and corrupt Palestinian leadership, but what the goal of the United States has got to be is to bring people in the region together, the Palestinians and the Israelis to create a kind of workable peace which works for both parties, not just one,” he added.

BUSTED! Warren Caught on Camera Saying She Supports ‘Ending’ the Israeli ‘Occupation’ of Palestine

posted by Hannity Staff - 7.09.19

Senator Elizabeth Warren was caught on camera at a campaign event this week telling a group of supporters she endorses “ending” the Israel ‘Occupation’ of Palestine.

“Hi we’re American Jews. We really love the way you’re fighting corruption. We’d really love it if you also pushed the Israeli government to end occupation,” said one activist.

“Yes. Yes. I’m so there,” Warren fired-back.

The organization released a press release praising the liberal Senator’s support.

“In the past, Warren has regularly spoken of Israel as a strong ally in a tough neighborhood and has appeared at AIPAC events and used right-wing talking points,” said the statement. “But as her career has gone on, her views on the issue have grown to be farther in line with her progressive values: She was one of the 60 Democrats to boycott [Prime Minister] Netanyahu’s speech in Congress, she supported the Iran Deal, spoke out against the Embassy move, and opposes efforts to criminalize the BDS movement.”

According to the group’s website, the organization is “building a vibrant and inclusive movement within the American Jewish community, across generations and organizational affiliations. This movement is open to any who seek to shift the American Jewish public away from the status quo that upholds the Occupation. As a movement, we understand the Occupation as the military rule over Palestinians in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza. We also know that the discrimination and displacement inside Israel’s 1948 borders are connected to its rule in those Occupied Territories. This system of violence deprives all Palestinians of civil, political, and economic rights.”
