New York Democratic socialist candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez continued to make national headlines over the weekend; slamming American-style capitalism as the “wild west” and saying the modern financial system “will not always exist in the world.”
Ocasio-Cortez was speaking with PBS News when she was asked to weigh-in on the robust US economy, with one reporter saying, “the economy is going pretty strong.”

“The economy is going pretty strong. There’s 3.9% unemployment. Do you think capitalism has failed to deliver for working class Americans? Or is it no longer the best vehicle for working class Americans?” asked PBS.
“The numbers you’re talking about is part of the problem. We look at these figures and we say unemployment is low, but employment is low because everyone has two jobs,” said Cortez.
“I do think that we have this no-holds barred, wild west, hyper-capitalism that means profit at any cost. Capitalism has not always existed in the world, and it will not always exist in the world,” she added.

DNC CIVIL WAR: NY Socialist SLAMS Outgoing Moderate DEM in Twitter Feud
The New York Democratic socialist who defeated a longtime centrist and potential party leader slammed the outgoing politician on social media Thursday, accusing the Representative of failing to make “three scheduled concession calls.”
Democratic challenger Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ripped Rep. Joe Crowley on Twitter earlier Thursday, saying he was plotting a potential run for his House seat on a third party ticket.
“@repjoecrowley stated on live TV that he would absolutely support my candidacy. Instead, he’s stood me up for all 3 scheduled concession calls,” said Cortez. “Now, he’s mounting a 3rd party challenge against me and the Democratic Party- and against the will of [people],” she tweeted.

Crowley fired back minutes later, saying “Alexandria, the race is over and Democrats need to come together. I’ve made my support for you clear and the fact that I’m not running. We’ve scheduled phone calls and your team has not followed through. I’d like to connect but I’m not willing to air grievances on Twitter.”

IT BEGINS: Democrat Calls to ABOLISH ICE Grow Heading into Midterms
More and more Liberal legislators and candidates are calling for the total abolishment of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency; creating a “litmus test” for potential lawmakers heading into the 2018 midterms.
According to Fox News, the Democrats’ renewed calls to limit or eliminate the agency comes as thousands protest the detention of illegal immigrants along the United States’ southern border with Mexico.
“The calls reflect not only the deepening divide between the two partisan poles on immigration — with one side seeking a border wall, and the other looking to dismantle the lead enforcement agency — but the growing influence of the progressive wing,” writes Fox.
“Its extra-judicial nature is baked into the structure of the agency and that is why they are able to get away with black sites at our border, with the separation of children,” said Democrat primary winner Ocasio-Cortez.
