Democrat Senator Mark Warner told a group of supporters this week that free-market capitalism hasn’t “worked for enough people,” doubling-down in his party’s heated rhetoric ahead of the 2018 midterm elections.
“I think we ought to realize that the economy we grew up in isn’t going to take place in 2017, 18, 19,” said Warren.
“I was blessed to do really well in business,” he continued. “I believe in the free enterprise system. But I don’t believe modern American capitalism has worked for enough people. And we need to shake things up,” he added.
In 2017, Warner called for ‘Capitalism 2.0’ that would ensure all people have a “fair shot” in the American free-market system.
At the end of the day Capitalism 2.0 is about making sure everybody’s got a fair shot in a changing economy. #AspenIdeas @AspenFutureofWork

SOCIALISM SMACKDOWN: Meghan McCain EDUCATES ‘The View’ on 'REAL SOCIALISM'
Meghan McCain unloaded on her fellow co-hosts during a fiery exchange on ‘The View’ Thursday, slamming ‘democratic socialism’ and demanding NY candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez name “one country” where the failed policies have ever worked.
McCain attempted to educate comedian Joy Behar on the dangers of socialism, citing Venezuela as the latest example of the true effects socialist principles have on a once-healthy economy.
“This makes my head explode, which, by the way, I hope Democrats do run a Democratic Socialist because I think you’ll fail spectacularly and then I’ll look forward to election night when I finally get to tell everyone ‘I told you so’ if you end up running a radical,” McCain said.
“The problem with socialism, in the words of Margaret Thatcher: ‘At a certain point you run out of spending other people’s money.’ Venezuela, one of the richest countries in the world in the 70s — now the average Venezuelan has lost 24 pounds because they’re starving to death,” she added. “Ninety percent of the country is living in poverty. This is what I need from her. Name one country where socialism has ever worked.”
SOCIALISM USA! Bernie Touring America Ahead of 2018 Midterms
Vermont Senator and self-described Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders is “barnstorming” the United States heading into the high-stakes 2018 midterm elections in October; stopping at nine states as liberal hopefuls work to take back Congress this fall.
According to the Associated Press, Sanders will stop in pivotal battleground states like Iowa, South Carolina, and Nevada; his longest return to the campaign trail since his failed bid for the Democratic nomination in 2016.
“He wanted to go where he thinks he can be helpful in energizing the base and bringing in young people and independent voters and working-class voters who supported him,” said Jeff Weaver, Sanders’ 2016 campaign manager.
Sanders has so-far refused to comment on whether he’s mulling a possible second run for the White House in 2020, with Weaver adding the prominent Democrat has “no timeline or date” for making the monumental decision.
