Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez blasted the American economic model during a speech in Texas over the weekend; saying “capitalism” was “not redeemable” because it places “profit” over the “human and environmental cost.”
Here's where @AOC says capitalism is "irredeemable."
Under capitalism, "the most important thing is the concentration of capital and it means that we seek and prioritize profit and the accumulation of money above all else, and we seek it at any human and environmental cost." pic.twitter.com/GeZaYILXCo

“The tough part about this, about like, is capitalism redeemable? For me, when I think about what those definitions are, capitalism isn’t, to me, it’s an ideology of capital. The most important thing is the concentration of capital,” claimed Cortez.
“It means that we seek and prioritize profit […] above all else. We seek it at any human and environmental cost. That is what that means. To me, that ideology is not sustainable and cannot be redeemed,” she added.
AOC EXPLODES: Cortez Says She ‘Doesn’t Care Anymore’, Screams ‘I’m the Boss’ on Climate Change
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez continued to deflect criticism of her ‘Green New Deal’ over the weekend; repeatedly yelling “I’m the boss” when it comes to climate-change policy and future legislation.
“You know what? I don’t care anymore. Again, I’m at least trying and they’re not. The power is in the person who’s trying regardless of the success. If you’re trying you’ve got all the power,” claimed Cortez.

“I just introduced ‘Green New Deal’ two weeks ago and it’s creating all of this conversation. Why? Because no one else has even tried… You try, you do it. Because you’re not. Until you do it, I’m the boss. How about that?” she yelled.
BACKLASH BUILDS: AOC Defends Use of CAR SERVICES, Says She’s Just ‘Living in the World’
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez defended her campaign’s extensive use of car services throughout the 2018 midterm elections over the weekend; bizarrely stating that she’s just “living in the world.”
“I also fly & use A/C. Living in the world as it is isn’t an argument against working towards a better future. The Green New Deal is about putting a LOT of people to work in developing new technologies, building new infrastructure, and getting us to 100% renewable energy,” Cortez posted on social media.

The Democratic-Socialist’s comments come after the NY Post published an article revealing her campaign spent $23,000 on car services from May 2017 until December 2018; sparking a fierce backlash against the lawmaker who has repeatedly called for the end of cars and other combustion-engine based-vehicles within the decade.
