Vermont Senator and potential 2020 Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders vowed to “do a better job of explaining socialism” to American voters Monday; doubling-down on his calls for a “political revolution” in the United States.
Sanders made the pledge during a recent interview with New Hampshire Public Radio; saying his “right-wing colleagues” are attempting to compare his political ideology with the current humanitarian and political disaster in Venezuela.
“I think what we have to do, and I will be doing it, is to do a better job maybe in explaining what we mean by socialism — democratic socialism. Obviously, my right-wing colleagues here want to paint that as authoritarianism and communism and Venezuela, and that’s nonsense,” said Sanders.
“What it means is that in the wealthiest country in the history of the world we can provide a decent standard of living for all of our people. That’s just the reality. That’s not Utopian dreaming; that is a reality. Health care for all can be done and we can save money in doing it,” he added.

SOCIALISM USA! AOC Says Capitalism ‘Not Sustainable’ Because of the ‘Environmental Costs’
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez blasted the American economic model during a speech in Texas over the weekend; saying “capitalism” was “not redeemable” because it places “profit” over the “human and environmental cost.”
Here's where @AOC says capitalism is "irredeemable."
Under capitalism, "the most important thing is the concentration of capital and it means that we seek and prioritize profit and the accumulation of money above all else, and we seek it at any human and environmental cost." pic.twitter.com/GeZaYILXCo

“The tough part about this, about like, is capitalism redeemable? For me, when I think about what those definitions are, capitalism isn’t, to me, it’s an ideology of capital. The most important thing is the concentration of capital,” claimed Cortez.
“It means that we seek and prioritize profit […] above all else. We seek it at any human and environmental cost. That is what that means. To me, that ideology is not sustainable and cannot be redeemed,” she added.
SOCIALISM USA! Bernie Calls for ‘Political Revolution’ Against ‘Fossil Fuel Billionaires’
Vermont Senator and potential 2020 candidate Bernie Sanders set his sights on “fossil fuel billionaires” Monday; saying the United States needs a “political revolution” to turn the country towards “clean energy.”
Sanders posted his incendiary comments on social media this week; slamming President Trump’s tax cuts as an outright “lie” to middle class Americans.
“During Trump’s campaign, he repeatedly promised the American people that ‘the rich would not gain at all’ from his tax plan. He said it would provide a ‘big-league tax cut for the middle class.’ He lied. It’s time for an economy that works for all of us, not just the rich,” Sanders tweeted.

It’s time for a political revolution that takes on fossil fuel billionaires, accelerates our transition to clean energy, and finally puts people before the profits of polluters.

The self-described Democratic Socialist is widely believed to planning another run for the White House in the coming months; refusing to deny his political ambitions when asked in recent interviews.
