SLAM DUNK: Durant Blasts NBA, NYC Vax Mandate Confusion, 'Now This Just Looks Stupid'

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.18.22

NBA all-star Kevin Durant shared his thoughts on the latest predicament of fellow Brooklyn Net Kyrie Irving; Irving is not allowed to play at the Barclays Center because of the private-sector employee vaccine requirement —but he’s allowed to sit in the stands, unmasked and unvaccinated.

“This is ridiculous. I don’t understand at all,” Durant said earlier this week.

“We’re all confused. Pretty much everybody in the world is confused at this point. Early on in the season, people didn’t understand what was going on but now, it just looks stupid. Eric (Adams), you gotta figure this out.’

“But he’ll figure it out soon. He better. But it just didn’t make any sense,” Durant said. “Like, there’s unvaxxed people in this building already. We got a guy who can come into the building — I guess, are they fearing our safety?”

Adams offered up a reply to New Yorkers worried about the stars of their local teams.

“I’m focused on 9 million people,” Adams said. “And so, I am not looking at one person, I’m looking at my city not closing down again, not having to deal with this crisis again.”

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) shared the clip of Durant’s comments on Twitter:

“The American spirit of individual liberty (and common sense) still lives with some NBA stars,” Paul said.
