3:30PM ET – CARRYING PRESIDENT TRUMP’S SPEECH
4:35PM ET – Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky is here to discuss his decision to filibuster the FISA bill if it remains unchanged. The bill in its current state is what allowed the FBI to unmark Trump’s campaign during the election.
House leadership is about to make another attempt at what it failed to do in December: push through an updated version of the House Intelligence Committee’s FISA Amendments Reauthorization Act of 2017 by claiming the bill is a surveillance reform measure. The bill would reauthorize and expand – rather than reform – Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), the provision that allows the government to warrantlessly collect the communications of non-Americans located abroad, including their communications with Americans. 5:05PM ET – James O’Keefe, Founder of Project Veritas, is here with breaking news. PV’s latest video exposes what we have all long suspected. Social media platforms are misusing their access and control over your personal information. Today O’Keefe reveals that twitter employs a network engineer who admits to hacking into President Trump’s account. He brags about his ability to read all of his direct messages, revive deleted tweets and ‘secure’ passwords. As upsetting as all of this is, it gets worse. Twitter’s employee admits to giving this private information to the Department of Justice. Talk about Big Brother.
5:30PM ET – Dr. Kelli Ward, US Senate Candidate in Arizona has plenty to say about yesterday’s discussion on immigration. The President’s decision to have an open and candid conversation with a bipartisan representation of Congressional leaders while the cameras were running, gave a whole new meaning to the word transparency. Ward has been very outspoken about RINO senators like Jeff Flake of her state, and recognizes how important the issue of immigration, among many others, is to the people of her state.
The field of candidates for the U.S. Senate seat held by Arizona Republican Jeff Flake is growing and may grow some more.
Former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio announced Tuesday that he’s joining former state Sen. Kelli Ward in the race for the Republican nomination, and Republican U.S. Rep. Martha McSally has scheduled “special announcement” events in Tucson, Phoenix and Prescott for Friday.
Flake, Arpaio, Ward and McSally are all Republicans. Democrats in the race include U.S. Rep. Kyrsten Sinema.
McSally has made no formal announcement of a Senate candidacy since she told House colleagues in November that she would seek the seat being vacated by Flake. (h/t The Star Telegram)
