SHAKE UP: Mayor Pete Buttigieg Takes 1st Place in Latest Polls from Iowa, New Hampshire

posted by Hannity Staff - 11.20.19

Mayor Pete Buttigieg surged in recent polling from both Iowa and New Hampshire this week; sending shockwaves through the Democratic primary just months before voters head to the polls.

“The Saint Anselm College Survey Center poll of 255 likely Democratic primary voters shows that Buttigieg, supported by 25 percent, now holds a 10 percentage point lead over former Vice President Joe Biden and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who are tied for second at 15 percent. Buttigieg is substantially ahead of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who is in fourth place at 9 percent,” reports WMUR Channel 9.

A similar survey had him on top in the Iowa caucus.

“Anytime a candidate pops up above the pack, there’s a vigorous effort to vet them,” said Democratic strategist Zac Petkanas. “Buttigieg is going to have to prove that his recent rise is not just a flash in the pan.”

Ten Democrats will share the stage during Wednesday night’s fifth presidential debate in Atlanta, Georgia.

AOC vs. PETE: Ocasio-Cortez Rips Buttigieg, Says Mayor ‘Protecting Era of Big Money’

posted by Hannity Staff - 10.15.19

Controversial Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called-out South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg Monday night; accusing the Democratic presidential hopeful of “protecting” the “era of big money.”

“Small-dollar grassroots campaigns, aka what Buttegieg insults here as ‘pocket change,’ out-fundraise him by millions. Our nation’s leaders should be working to end the era of big money politics, not protect it. & Beto’s gun policy isn’t ‘picking a fight,’ it’s taking a stand,” posted AOC on social media.

Sen. Cory Booker made similar comments earlier this week; accusing Buttigieg of defending the National Rifle Association.

“Calling buyback programs ‘confiscation’ is doing the NRA’s work for them, @PeteButtigieg—and they don’t need our help,” posted Booker on social media.

Both Booker and O’Rourke support a mandatory gun confiscation policy.

Dems Imploding: Cory Booker Accuses Pete Buttigieg of ‘Doing the NRA’s Work for Them’

posted by Hannity Staff - 10.14.19

Failing presidential candidate Cory Booker swiped at South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg Monday; accusing the politician of “doing the NRA’s work for them” by referring to his gun buyback program as a “confiscation.”

“Calling buyback programs ‘confiscation’ is doing the NRA’s work for them, @PeteButtigieg—and they don’t need our help,” posted Booker on social media.

Original Story: October 2, 2019

Cory Booker joined fellow Democrat Beto O’Rourke on gun control this week; confirming he would support a “mandatory buyback program” on “assault rifles.”

“Mandatory buyback or voluntary buyback?” asked the MSNBC moderator.

“This is another thing, to me, that’s just absurd… We’re talking about assault rifles. The overwhelming majority of Americans, over 75%, does not believe we should have weapons of war on our streets,” said Booker.

“You have a mandatory buyback program,” he added.

Booker managed to meet his last-minute fundraising deadline over the weekend; vowing to continue his quest to take-on President Trump in the 2020 race for the White House.

“Sen. Cory Booker’s (D-N.J.) White House campaign said that it met its goal of raising $1.7 million dollars a Monday deadline and announced the senator will continue his bid for the presidency,” reports The Hill.

“When we made the decision to be completely honest with folks about where we stood and what we needed to raise to put this campaign on a path to be successful, we didn’t know how people would respond,” Booker said in a statement.

“I’ve been overwhelmed by the response, and I couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who pitched in. This moment is a testimony to the power of what’s possible when people unite in common purpose and work toward a shared goal,” he added.
