According to a Fox News report, a fire broke out at Senator Ran Paul’s office in Kentucky just one day after the lawmaker referred COVID doc Anthony Fauci to the DOJ for prosecution.

No injuries were reported.

From Fox News:

Fire crews were called to the building on State Steet around 2 a.m. Friday and found a heavy blaze that required additional units, Bowling Green Fire Department spokeswoman Katie McKee told the Daily News.

Six units worked for hours to extinguish the flames, with firefighters manning aerials to get at the blaze from above. The fire caused a roof collapse and a plume of heavy gray smoke rose from the top of the building at sunrise, the newspaper reported.

Paul said in a statement that he was thankful for first responders who arrived quickly to extinguish the blaze. He said his office is working with authorities to assess damages and determine a cause and will continue to operate for constituents.

“We have a very well established emergency management plan and have the ability to continue operations that will not impact our work helping Kentuckians,” he said.

This week, Paul referred Fauci to the DOJ for prosecution for lying to Congress.

“This is when they’re just beginning to look into the pandemic. And in that email, he basically says, ‘Yes, we’re suspicious that this could be a manipulated virus because it came from a lab in Wuhan, where they do gain of function research,’ and he describes the research,” Paul said.

“Well, this directly contradicts everything he said in committee hearing to me, denying absolutely that they funded any gain of function, and it’s absolutely a lie,” he said.

“That’s why we ended up referring him again this week to the Department of Justice, for prosecution for lying to Congress,” Paul revealed.

Investigators are getting to the bottom of what caused the fire.
