Monday on the House floor, Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz challenged Speaker McCarthy to disclose the details of a “secret side deal” he made with Biden and the Democrats regarding Ukraine.
“So, Mr. Speaker, just tell us,” Gaetz told the floor. “Just tell us what was in the secret Ukraine side deal. What commitments were made to President Biden to continue the spending of President Biden in exchange for doing things for President Biden?
“It has become increasingly clear who the speaker of the House already works for, and it’s not the Republican conference.”
The information Gaetz gathers may influence his much-discussed (and threatened) motion to vacate, bringing a vote to force McCarthy to step down.
“There may be other votes coming today or later this week that could be implicated by the answers to these questions,” Gaetz continued. “Members of the Republican Party might vote differently on a motion to vacate if they heard what the speaker had to share with us about his secret side deal with Joe Biden on Ukraine.”
According to The Daily Caller, Democrats are already preparing a list of demands in order to save McCarthy’s hide in the event a vote does take place.

In order to receive their help to keep his speakership, Democrats will likely demand McCarthy adhere to the spending levels he previously agreed upon with President Joe Biden, as well as ending the impeachment inquiry brought against the president, giving party members more seats on committees — including equal representation on the Rules Committee — and additional aid to Ukraine.
