Schiff says it’s time for Joe to go…
According to a report from the Los Angeles Times, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) is the latest high-profile Democrat to call for President Joe Biden to exit the 2024 presidential race; he has “serious concerns” over Joe’s electability.
“While the choice to withdraw from the campaign is President Biden’s alone, I believe it is time for him to pass the torch,” Schiff said in a statement, which was first reported by the Los Angeles Times.
“A second Trump presidency will undermine the very foundation of our democracy, and I have serious concerns about whether the President can defeat Donald Trump in November,” he said.
“I will do everything I can to help them succeed,” Schiff said. “There is only one singular goal: defeating Donald Trump. The stakes are just too high.”
During a recent fundraiser, Schiff reportedly said, “I think if [Biden] is our nominee, I think we lose.”
A recent Politico report revealed that fellow Golden State Rep. Nancy Pelosi was also working the phones to find a Plan B for Biden’s candidacy.
