SCALISE to MAXINE: ‘I Was Shot Because of This Kind of Dangerous Rhetoric’

Congressman Steve Scalise called-out his Democratic colleagues Tuesday for failing to condemn Maxine Waters’ violent rhetoric; saying President Trump used the word “peaceful” in his previous statements regarding protests.

“Let’s be clear: Maxine Waters knew her rhetoric would incite violence in Minneapolis—but she doesn’t care, she just requests police escorts for herself. I was shot because of this kind of dangerous rhetoric. Where is the outrage from Dems & the media? They need to condemn this,” posted Scalise on Twitter.

“President Trump used the words peaceful when he talked about the statements that he made. I haven’t heard Maxine saying anything about peacefully protesting,” said Scalise.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy confirmed Tuesday that Republicans will soon introduce a resolution that would formally censure Rep. Maxine Waters for her comments in Minnesota over the weekend.

“This weekend in Minnesota, Maxine Waters broke the law by violating curfew and then incited violence. Speaker [Nancy] Pelosi [D-Calif.] is ignoring Waters’ behavior—that’s why I am introducing a resolution to censure Rep. Waters for these dangerous comments,” McCarthy announced on Twitter.

 

“We’ve got to stay on the street, and we’ve got to get more active. We’ve got to get more confrontational. We’ve got to make sure that they know that we mean business,” Waters told a crowd in Minnesota.

“I talk about confronting the justice system, confronting the policing that’s going on, I’m talking about speaking up. I’m talking about legislation. I’m talking about elected officials doing what needs to be done to control their budgets and to pass legislation,” Waters added.

“I am not worried that they’re going to continue to distort what I say. This is who they are and this is how they act. And I’m not going to be bullied by them,” Waters said of Republicans.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy confirmed Tuesday that Republicans will soon introduce a resolution that would formally censure Rep. Maxine Waters for her comments in Minnesota over the weekend.

FANCY NANCY BACKS MAD MAXINE: ‘I Don’t Think She Should Apologize’

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi defended Rep. Maxine Waters Monday when the far-left lawmaker faced a growing backlash after telling demonstrators in Minnesota to “get more confrontational.”

“No, she doesn’t,” said Pelosi when asked by a reporter if the California Congresswoman should apologize for her remarks.

“Maxine talked about confrontation in the manner of the civil rights movement,” added the Speaker. “I myself think we should take our lead from the George Floyd family. They’ve handled this with great dignity and no ambiguity or lack of — misinterpretation by the other side. No, I don’t think she should apologize.”

“No, absolutely not,” she concluded when pressed on whether the comments could incite violence.

 

Waters is now facing formal action from Republicans this week after she allegedly “incited violence” during an anti-police protests outside Minneapolis.

 

 

Waters faced a growing backlash from Republicans over the weekend after she told demonstrators in Minnesota to “get more confrontational” and show America “we mean business.”

“We’ve got to stay on the street and we’ve got to get more active, we’ve got to get more confrontational. We’ve got to make sure that they know that we mean business,” the Congresswoman told protesters outside Minneapolis when asked to comment on a potential not-guilty verdict in the trial of Derek Chauvin.

“We cannot go away!” she added.

 

“Telling rioters who have burned buildings, looted stores, and assaulted journalists to get ‘more confrontational’ is incredibly irresponsible. Every House Democrat should condemn Maxine Waters’ call for violence,” National Republican Congressional Committee spokesman Mike Berg told Fox News.
