SAS SHREDS THE LEFT! Crockett, AOC, Newsom — No One is Safe From Stephen A.'s Blistering Rant [WATCH]

SiriusXM’s Stephen A. Smith tore into Democratic leaders Rep. Jasmine Crockett of Texas, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, and California Gov. Gavin Newsom on his show Straight Shooter on Wednesday, warning their rhetoric and records are out of step with voters.

The rebuke came as a new Washington Post/Ipsos poll showed Republicans leading Democrats by 7% on the economy, 13% on immigration, and 22% on crime — issues Smith said Democrats are mishandling.

“Jasmine Crockett, you’re calling [President Donald Trump] everything under the sun,” Smith said. “How’s that going to work if it serves to alienate folks because they’re saying you’re just him on the other side of the aisle acting the same way you’re accusing him of acting, and then you get dismissed?”

Crockett has repeatedly compared Trump to Hitler and called him an “enemy to the United States.”

Turning to Ocasio-Cortez, Smith said he believes her ambitions may outpace her appeal: “AOC, I believe, can win the Senate seat in New York over Chuck Schumer! I don’t think she’ll win the presidency.”

Smith saved some of his sharpest words for Newsom, whom he said he expects to run in 2028:

“You going to pull it off with the record that took place in California all of these years under your stewardship!? It’s nice to see him sticking his chest out and going off! You think they don’t have clips of how you embraced extreme leftist policies during the whole woke movement and cancel culture and everything else!?”

“You think they didn’t see people getting arrested and let out of jail the same day!? You think they don’t have footage of crime ravaging the streets of Los Angeles or homelessness!? You think they don’t know about the cost of living and how it’s the highest in this republic right now!?” Smith added.

Homelessness has plagued California throughout Newsom’s tenure, despite the state spending billions of dollars. He has argued that restrictive housing policies are to blame.

Newsom has also been caught in credibility disputes. While he insisted in March that neither he nor his office ever used the term “Latinx,” CNN later showed footage and posts proving otherwise.

Polling suggests Democrats may be heading for a fractured 2028 contest. Newsom leads with 21% support among Democrats and left-leaning Independents, followed by Kamala Harris at 19% and Ocasio-Cortez at 12%, according to a Yahoo/YouGov survey conducted Aug. 29–Sept. 2. CNN analyst Harry Enten noted he was surprised by AOC’s strong showing, given her “very liberal” record as a Democratic Socialist and co-author of the costly “Green New Deal.”
