Hedge fund billionaire Leon Cooperman made a rare public appearance over the weekend to blast his former alma mater Columbia University for refusing to check antisemitism on campus.
Cooperman has donated more than $50 million dollars to Columbia —but that’s over now.
“What do you make of what’s happening at Columbia?” Cooperman is asked.
“These kids in college have sh*t for brains,” Cooperman said during a Fox Business interview. “We have one reliable ally in the Middle East —that’s Israel. We have one Democracy in the Middle East —that’s Israel,” Cooperman said.
“The shame is I’ve given to Columbia $50 million dollars over many years and I’m going to stop my giving —I’ll give my giving to other organizations.”
“War is hell. War is not good for anybody. But to praise what Hamas did is disgusting.”

Columbia has refused to crack down on aggressive pro-Palestinian protests and behaviors on campus —much of which is making the Jewish students feel targeted and unsafe.
