United States officials are now predicting that attempted border crossings into the country will likely be as high as one million migrants by the end of the year; highlighting the escalating humanitarian and legal crisis taking place along the US-Mexico border.
“U.S. border authorities are predicting the number of undocumented migrants stopped at the southern border could reach as high as 1 million by the end of the year, potentially doubling last year’s level,” reports ABC News.
“The numbers are trending from bad to worse, which is why we need Congress to act to fix outdated laws to address migrant flows,” said Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen Tuesday.
Make no mistake—our border crisis has gone from a national emergency to a near system-wide meltdown. We must be able to secure our borders AND protect vulnerable populations fleeing persecution. But we can’t do this effectively without action to fix our laws.

There is no “manufactured” crisis at our Southern Border. There is a real-life
humanitarian & security catastrophe. The numbers are trending from bad to

The report comes hours after House Democrats failed to overturn President Trump’s veto regarding his “national emergency” declaration; setting the stage for a legal showdown as the Commander-in-Chief continues construction of his long-promised border wall.

BETO GOES BERSERK: O’Rourke Calls for the REMOVAL of El Paso Border Wall
Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke called for the removal of El Paso’s critical border wall this week; saying the physical barrier “has not in any way” made the US “safer” and costs “tens of billions of dollars.”
Beto O'Rourke when asked, since Rep. @DanCrenshawTX asked on Twitter, if he would tear down the walls that are already in place: Yes and I think a referendum to do so would pass. pic.twitter.com/ENZuYvdqEa

“Would you -if you could- take the wall down now? Here?” asked MSNBC’s Chris Hayes.
“Yes, Absolutely. I’d take the wall down,” said Beto.
“Here’s what we know… After the Secure Fence Act we built 600 miles of wall and fencing on a 2,000 mile border. What that has done has not in any way made us safer. It cost us tens of billions of dollars to build and to maintain,” he added.
Cortez SLAMMED After Saying BERLIN WALL Built to 'Block Out People'
Recently sworn-in Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez continued to face fierce scrutiny regarding her recent social media posts Tuesday; coming under fire after she directly compared President Trump’s border security proposal to the Berlin Wall.
“I think it’s like the Berlin Wall. I think it’s like any other wall designed to separate human beings and block out people who are running away from the humanitarian disasters. I just think it’s wrong,” said Cortez.
Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) says the wall is “a moral abomination. I think it’s like the Berlin wall”

“People who compare the US-Mexico border wall to the Berlin wall failed or slept through the easiest history classes in middle school and high school,” wrote one user on social media.
Dear @AOC: Let me serve as your private professor here. The Berlin Wall was meant to keep people inside the socialist/communist utopia and stop them from fleeing to the decadent capitalist west. So as the New Millennial Lenin, you might want to refrain from using this example.
