New documents released from the Mueller report this week reveal former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn was under investigation by the Department of Justice earlier than previously reported.
“Michael Flynn was under FBI investigation earlier than previously thought, according to a little-noticed section in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report — and the former national security adviser’s brother told Fox News exclusively this week that the revelation suggested a long-running, high-level effort to ‘trip him up’ and ‘trap’ him,” reports Fox News.
“Buried in the second volume of the Mueller report was a mention of an existing FBI investigation of Flynn ‘based on his relationship with the Russian government,’ which predated Flynn’s phone calls during the presidential transition in December 2016 with then-Russian ambassador Sergei Kislyak that ultimately led to his termination for lying,” adds the article.
“It now seems the General Flynn was under investigation long before was common knowledge. It would have been impossible for me to know this but, if that was the case, and with me being one of two people who would become president, why was I not told so that I could make a change?” posted President Trump on social media.

“[He] went through 19 sessions with the special counsel — approximately 90 hours of torturous interviews — and this never came up the entire time. And you would have thought it would have, and they would have maybe focused on that, but it didn’t come up at all,” said Flynn’s brother.
House Democrats have flat-out refused to accept Mueller’s final report in recent weeks; calling the Attorney General’s summary “slanted” in favor of the President.
“Attorney General Barr’s regrettably partisan handling of the Mueller report, including his slanted March 24th summary letter, his irresponsible testimony before Congress last week, and his indefensible plan to spin the report in a press conference later this morning — hours before he allows the public or Congress to see it — have resulted in a crisis of confidence in his independence and impartiality,” said a joint statement from the Democratic leadership.

BARR TALK: The AG Dares Pelosi in Face-to-Face Meeting, Asks ‘Did you Bring Your Handcuffs?’
Attorney General William Barr reportedly met with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi face-to-face Wednesday during an event at the Capitol; asking the top Democrat if she “brought her handcuffs” after accusing the senior Trump official of breaking the law just days ago.
“Colleague Jake Gibson rpts AG Barr spoke to Pelosi in person today, after the National Peace Officers Memorial Service at the Capitol. Source says Barr went up to Pelosi & asked her if she brought her handcuffs,” reported a journalist from Fox News.

“What is deadly serious about it is the attorney general of the United States of America was not telling the truth to the Congress of the United States,” Pelosi told reporters earlier this month. “That’s a crime.”
The House Judiciary Committee voted to hold the Attorney General in contempt last week after Barr refused to meet with Democrats to further discuss Robert Mueller’s “no collusion” final report.
“We will have no choice but to move quickly to hold the attorney general in contempt if he stalls or fails to negotiate in good faith,” Mr. Nadler said. “But the attorney general must make a choice. Every one of us must make the same choice. That choice is now an obligation of our office.”
“The choice is simple: We can stand up to this president in defense of the country and the Constitution we love, or we can let the moment pass us by,” he added.
BERNIE ON MUELLER: ‘I Want the Whole Damn Report’
Vermont Senator and 2020 Democratic front-runner Bernie Sanders weighed-in Sunday evening on Robert Mueller’s final conclusion there was “no collusion” between the Trump campaign and Russia; saying he “wants the whole damn report.”
“I don’t want a summary of the Mueller report. I want the whole damn report,” posted Sanders on social media.

Bernie’s comments come just hours after the special counsel concluded his two-year investigation into the Trump campaign; telling DOJ officials there was no evidence of “collusion” during the 2016 race for the White House.
