A series of recently released email chains between intelligence officials reveal the FBI and Department of Justice had “concerns” over the infamous ‘Steel Dossier,’ raising serious new questions over how the document was used to obtain FISA warrants against Trump associates.
“The email exchanges included then-FBI Director James Comey, key FBI investigators in the Russia probe and lawyers in the DOJ’s national security division, and they occurred in early to mid-October, before the FBI successfully secured a FISA warrant to spy on Trump campaign adviser Carter Page,” writes the Hill’s John Solomon.
“The email exchanges show the FBI was aware — before it secured the now-infamous warrant — that there were intelligence community concerns about the reliability of the main evidence used to support it: the Christopher Steele dossier,” he adds.
“The exchanges also indicate FBI officials were aware that Steele, the former MI6 British intelligence operative then working as a confidential human source for the bureau, had contacts with news media reporters before the FISA warrant was secured,” writes Solomon.

BOMBSHELL: Clinton-Financed Russia Dossier USED TO SPY on Trump Campaign
The unverified dossier alleging connections between President Trump’s campaign and the Russians was used as evidence by the FBI to gain approval from a secret court to monitor members of Trump’s team, this reporter has learned.
A large portion of the evidence presented in the salacious 35-page dossier put together by former British spy Christopher Steele, has either been proven wrong or remains unsubstantiated. However, the FBI gained approval nevertheless to surveil members of Trump’s campaign and “it’s outrageous and clearly should be thoroughly investigated,” said a senior law enforcement source, with knowledge of the process.
Multiple sources told this reporter that the dossier was used along with other evidence to obtain the warrant from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, known as FISC. The sources also stressed that there will be more information in the coming week regarding systemic “FISA abuse.”
“(The dossier) certainly played a role in obtaining the warrant,” added another senior U.S. official, with knowledge of the dossier. “Congress needs to look at the FBI officials who were handling this case and see what, if anything, was verified in the dossier. I think an important question is whether the FBI payed anything to the source for the dossier.”

BREAKING: GOP Senators DEMAND CRIMINAL Investigation into Trump Dossier
Two senior Republican Senators are publicly calling for a criminal investigation into the author behind the infamous Trump Dossier; demanding the Department of Justice launch a probe of former British spy Christopher Steele.
According to the Hill, Senators Chuck Grassley and Lindsey Graham sent a scathing letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray, urging the DOJ to open a criminal investigation of Steele and his role behind the creation of the debunked dossier.
“I don’t take lightly making a referral for criminal investigation. But, as I would with any credible evidence of a crime unearthed in the course of our investigations, I feel obliged to pass that information along to the Justice Department for appropriate review,” said Grassley.
“After reviewing how Mr. Steele conducted himself in distributing information contained in the dossier and how many stop signs the DOJ ignored in its use of the dossier, I believe that a special counsel needs to review this matter,” added Graham.
The shady opposition firm Fusion GPS –who hired Steele to create the document- continues to refuse to cooperate with federal investigators.
Congressional leaders are struggling to determine with the phony dossier was used as a pretense by Obama officials to surveil members of the Trump campaign ahead of the 2016 presidential election.
