REPORT: Hezbollah ‘Terror Scout’ Searched for Targets in New York City, Sent Photos to Lebanon

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.19.19

A “scout” for terrorist organization Hezbollah reportedly searched for targets in New York City, Boston, and Washington according to federal prosecutors.

“A scout for the militant group Hezbollah was looking at locations for attacks in New York, Boston and Washington and sending target information back to leadership in Lebanon, federal prosecutors said,” reports NBC New York.

“They unveiled charges in Manhattan on Thursday against Alexei Saab of Morristown, New Jersey, who has been in custody since July. The government alleges that Saab has been a Hezbollah member since 1996 and has extensive firearms and bomb-making training,” adds the website.

The news comes one day after prosecutors say an American Airlines employee who “sabotaged” a commercial jet was found with ISIS-inspired material on his phone.

“U.S. Magistrate Judge Chris McAliley imposed pretrial detention for 60-year-old Abdul-Majeed Marouf Ahmed Alani at Wednesday’s hearing. The new evidence presented by prosecutors includes that Alani has a brother in Iraq who may be involved with the Islamic State extremist group as well as statements Alani made about wishing harm on non-Muslims,” reports NBC Miami.

“FEDERAL COURT UPDATE: ISIS propaganda video found on phone of mechanic accused of sabotaging flight at MIA, prosecutors say,” posted ABC Miami on social media.

“Alani is charged with sabotaging a Boeing 737 with 150 people aboard at Miami International Airport because ongoing labor negotiations were jeopardizing his chances at earning overtime,” adds NBC. “The aircraft did not take off and no one was injured.”
