Florida’s disastrous election recount suffered another significant set-back Thursday, when Palm Beach county missed the 3pm deadline for ballot submissions; meaning the original Election Day results will stand.
According to Fox News, “As a result of the county failing to make the deadline, the only one of Florida’s 67, the numbers from the initial count, which were completed Saturday, will stand.”
“The reality is that we were very close two nights ago and then our machines went down,” said Palm Beach Election Supervisor Susan Bucher. “It’s not for lack of human effort.”
“You see that we’re working 24/7,” she said. “It’s an unusual request to make of your staff. You know, can you leave your kids behind? Can you stay here and I’ll feed you sub sandwiches and pizza? And you’ll work your brains out and we’re trying to meet a deadline that, really, reasonably shouldn’t be there.”

REPORT: Hillary Clinton to Deploy ‘Lawyers, Organizers’ for Florida Recount
Twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton reportedly waded into Florida’s midterm mayhem this week; deploying “lawyers and organizers” to the region as the Sunshine State begins its official recount of the 2018 midterm election.
According to the Washington Examiner, Clinton confirmed the move through a memo released by her ‘Onward Together’ organization; asking for donations to help finance the efforts to take Florida’s Senate race and Governor’s office.
“The fund raising call, on behalf of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, was her first action since a former aide said that she will jump into the 2020 Democratic primary. It is expected to have at least 12 candidates,” writes the Examiner. “In a memo from her Onward Together group, Clinton sought money to pay for lawyers and activists to help in the recount.”
The move comes after a senior Clinton insider released a stunning op-ed in the Wall Street Journal Monday, saying the former Secretary of State will most likely launch a third bid for the White House.

MIDTERM MAYHEM: More ‘Irregularities Surface’ in Florida Recount
More “irregularities” surfaced Tuesday in Florida’s ongoing recount for last week’s highly-contested midterm election, with new reports revealing hurricane-displaced voters were permitted to vote via email -a clear violation of state law.
According to the Associated Press, “Florida’s election recount chugged along Tuesday as more irregularities are uncovered” for the Sunshine State’s Senate and gubernatorial races.
“One county revealed it had allowed some hurricane-displaced voters to cast their ballots by email — a violation of state law. Another had to restart its recount after getting about a quarter finished because someone forgot to push a button,” added the AP.
A White House spokesperson slammed Florida’s handling of the recount; calling the events “incredibly frustrating” and saying, “We’re confident Rick Scott will be the next senator of Florida.”
