A prominent ‘Never Nancy’ leader abruptly endorsed Rep. Pelosi for Speaker of the House Tuesday; shocking supporters and likely ending the progressive “rebellion” against the House Minority Leader.
According to the Hill, “Rep. Marcia Fudge (D-Ohio) endorsed Democratic leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for Speaker in the next Congress in a surprise move Tuesday, abandoning the idea of challenging her.”
“Leader Pelosi has granted me the opportunity to create the record necessary to satisfy the 2013 Supreme Court decision in Shelby County v. Holder, so that the protections of the Voting Rights Act will be reinstated and improved,” Fudge confirmed.

“She has also assured me that the most loyal voting bloc in the Democratic party, Black women, will have a seat at the decision-making table,” she added. “I am now confident that we will move forward together and that the 116th Congress will be a Congress of which we can all be proud. I now join my colleagues in support of the leadership team of Pelosi, [Steny] Hoyer and [James] Clyburn.”

NEVER NANCY? Liberal Democrats Move to BLOCK Pelosi as Speaker of the House
A group of left-leaning Democratic Representatives moved this week to block Nancy Pelosi from becoming the Speaker of the House; revealing the existence of a mysterious “letter” signed by at least 17 legislators who pledged to vote against the party leader.
“Fox News has confirmed at least 17 House Democrats, including incumbents and incoming members, have signed on to a document saying they will not support Pelosi on the House floor for speaker. A Democrat familiar with the effort says they are trying to add more names before the letter is publicly released,” writes Fox.
If the numbers hold and vote against Pelosi on the House floor, she would fail to secure enough support to regain the gavel when Democrats retake control in January.
“After we, as Democrats, make our selection, our new members should not be pressured into voting against our party’s nominee on the House floor in January — when the choice will be between the Democratic candidate and the Republican candidate,” said leading Rep. Elijah Cummings. “That will only play into the hands of House Republicans and President Trump.”

PELOSI FIGHTS BACK: Liberal Groups Threaten ‘BACKLASH’ Against ‘Never Nancy’ Democrats
Liberal activists and organizations throughout the country threw their support behind Nancy Pelosi this week; warning ‘Never Nancy’ progressives of a fierce “backlash” should they oppose her leadership.
“As Nancy Pelosi faces a grueling fight with her own members to regain the speaker’s gavel in January, pro-Pelosi left-wing activist groups are warning of a ‘backlash’ against House Democrats who oppose her,” writes Fox News.
“We strongly support and call on all members of the Democratic caucus to support @NancyPelosi for Speaker. Were it not for her skilled and effective leadership, the ACA would not be law today. Dems must reject attempts to defeat her and move caucus to the right,” tweeted MoveOn.org.

“If right-wing Democrats end up helping Republicans by voting against Nancy Pelosi as speaker, they can expect to face serious backlash from the same energized and mobilized base of progressive voters that just brought Democrats a majority in the House. Which certainly could extend to primaries,” added the left-wing organization.
