Kevin Warsh is officially headed to the top of the Federal Reserve — and straight into an inflation fight.
The Senate voted 54-45 Wednesday to confirm President Trump’s pick as the next Fed chairman, with Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., the only Democrat to join Republicans in backing him.
The vote hands Trump a major win after years of public clashes with outgoing Fed Chair Jerome Powell, who resisted the president’s pressure campaign for lower interest rates.
Warsh was also confirmed Tuesday to a 14-year term on the Fed Board of Governors in a separate 51-45 vote, giving him both the chairmanship and a long runway inside the central bank.
