Gym owners across California’s Bay Area seethed over Labor Day Weekend after discovering work-out facilities in government buildings have already been open for months despite a city-wide shut down in San Francisco.
“For months, the city of San Francisco health order has prevented local gyms from opening its doors, but some city-owned gyms have been back open for months and are allowing city employees to use them, crushing private gym owners,” reports NBC San Francisco.
“It’s shocking, it’s infuriating,” said Daniele Rabkin from Crossfit Golden Gate.
“Even though they’re getting exposed, there are no repercussions, no ramifications? It’s shocking,” she said.
“It just demonstrates that there seems to be some kind of a double standard between what city employees are allowed to do and what the residents of San Francisco are allowed to do,” said Dave Karraker, owner of MX3 Fitness in the Castro.

BACKLASH BUILDS: Pelosi Vows to ‘Speak’ With Omar Over 9/11 Remarks, Top Dem Says ‘Extremely Hurtful’
A growing backlash engulfed Rep. Ilhan Omar Friday for her recent comments regarding the 9/11 terror attacks, with a top Democrat calling the remarks “extremely hurtful.”
Assistant Speaker of the House Rep. Ben Ray Lujan was asked to weigh-in Friday on Omar’s vicious rhetoric after she labeled the September 11th attacks as just “some people” who “did something.”
“Several of her colleagues have jumped to her defense. Do you think that she was inappropriately dismissive of what happened on September 11, 2001?” asked MSNBC’s Kasie Hunt.
“Well, those statements were not only hurtful to me, but extremely hurtful to everyone that was personally impacted by those terrorist attacks,” Lujan said. “No one should refer to what happened on 9/11, with terrorist attacks that killed thousands of Americans, as ‘something by some people.’ And that’s what was wrong with those statements.”
Speaker Nancy Pelosi: "I haven't had the opportunity to speak with [Rep. Ilhan Omar] to see the nature of her comment and, as is my custom with my colleagues, I call them in before I call them out so I'll look forward to hearing from her." pic.twitter.com/5A6Zo9n6KJ

BACKLASH GROWS: Scalise Says Omar Should be REMOVED from Committee, BLOCKED from Intel
Rep. Steve Scalise joined the growing chorus of legislators calling for the removal of Ilhan Omar from the House Foreign Affairs Committee Tuesday; saying she should no longer have access to classified briefings regarding the State of Israel after her anti-Semitic rant.
“Right now, she sits on the Foreign Affairs Committee. She’s able to get classified briefings on foreign policy, especially as it relates to Israel. She’s made statements, anti-Israel, anti-Jewish statements, aligned herself with anti-Semitic people as well,” said Scalise.
“She should be removed from the Foreign Affairs Committee, Nancy Pelosi should remove her immediately,” he added.
