During Tuesday’s White House press briefing, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked about Speaker Mike Johnson’s visit to New York to show support for Donald Trump at his criminal trial.
“Was it appropriate for Speaker Johnson to show up at the trial of the former president today?” one reporter asked KJP.
“I can’t speak to … I don’t want to comment obviously as this is related to the 2024 elections and I can’t speak to the Speaker’s schedule — that is something for him to decide on,” KJP replied.
KJP was blasted on X for indirectly admitting that Trump trials are about the 2024 election.
