White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stopped by Hannity Monday night to share her insider perspective on Trump tariffs, the Trump-Zelenskyy Oval Office exchange, and more.

Leavitt first touched on tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China.

“We’ve been ruled by a political class that has sold us out for far too long,” Leavitt said. “Tariffs on Mexico, China, and Canada are going into effect … and the reason is because we cannot continue to allow fentanyl to pour into our country and kill our people.”

“One American life is one too many, and these tariffs are necessary to continue to put the pressure on these countries to secure our borders,” Leavitt added.

“We have certainly seen an increase of cooperation from Mexiaco and also from Canada, but over the last four years under the previous administration, they allowed thousand of pounds of Chinese-produced fentanyl into our country. Last year alone, through the southern border, 4.8 billion people could have died with the amount of fentanyl that came through our borders,” Leavitt added.

“These countries need to be held accountable for that,” Leavitt continued.

Next, Hannity asked for Leavitt’s take on the Trump-Zelenskyy Oval Office dust-up.

“It was my take that President Zelenskyy was ungrateful for the American taxpayer. Putting aside my job as President Trump’s spokeswoman, as an American citizen, it was incredibly profound to watch our president actually stand up for us,” Leavitt said.

“President Trump wants to end this war — he campaigned on this!”

“I think it was incredibly refreshing to see the Vice President and the President stand up for America,” Leavitt added.
