Not exactly a “Summer Friday” for the White House press secretary.
During Friday’s White House press briefing, it was National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan’s turn to field questions about the mysterious baggie of cocaine found in the West Wing.
Not surprisingly, he referred reporters to the Secret Service. Sullivan also spoke on the White House’s strict drug testing policies and construction taking place in the situation room.
Why can’t we get a straight story on this cocaine discovery?
"From a national security perspective, what was your reaction when the [cocaine was] found? Was there any risk to security?"

After Sullivan spoke on the coke, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre continued her Herculean task of selling “Bidenomics” to the American people.
Karine Jean-Pierre says "lowering costs for American families" is "really a big part of what 'Bidenomics' is."

KJP was also questioned about the dip in Black employment —and she didn’t have a great answer.
"Total Black employment is down three straight months now, with 635,000 jobs lost in that spell — which is the most ever in a three-month stretch outside of the pandemic…"

Meanwhile, the Labor Department’s jobs report dropped on Friday and it didn’t exactly meet expectations. “U.S. employers added 209,000 jobs in June, the lowest number since 2020, but still a sign that the Federal Reserve will continue on its rate-tightening cycle this year and perhaps into early 2024. The unemployment rate held steady at 3.6%,” Fox News reported.
“Growth in April and May were revised marginally lower to 217,000 and 306,000, respectively.”
More over at Fox News:
While Biden claims he is turning the economy around quickly, the June jobs report shows the opposite with only 209k jobs added in June which was significantly lower than expected.
