President Donald Trump said Sunday he was “pissed off” at Russian President Vladimir Putin for jeopardizing peace talks to end the war in Ukraine.
In comments made to NBC News, Trump criticized Putin for questioning Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s credibility, saying it could undermine negotiations between the two countries. He also said he might impose secondary tariffs on Russian oil if he believes Putin is responsible for derailing a potential deal.
“If Russia and I are unable to make a deal on stopping the bloodshed in Ukraine, and if I think it was Russia’s fault — which it might not be — but if I think it was Russia’s fault, I am going to put secondary tariffs on oil, on all oil coming out of Russia,” Trump said. “That would be that if you buy oil from Russia, you can’t do business in the United States.”
He added that he was “very angry, pissed off, when Putin started getting into Zelenskyy’s credibility and started talking about new leadership in Ukraine.”

Trump blasted Welker on TRUTH Social:
Kristen Welker’s entire first half hour of the Lowly Rated Meet the Fake Press this morning, was devoted to the boring Signal Witch Hunt. She doesn’t want to talk in detail about anything that matters like how well we are doing against the Houthis, substantive Peace Talks with Russia and Ukraine or, Iran, Iran, Iran. She wastes my Administration’s time by talking to them about “NOTHING.” Why can’t NBC, one of the Worst Broadcasters on Television, hire people that are honest and credible? The reason they don’t is because their Chairman, Brian Roberts, is a pathetic Loser, who is petrified of the Left, and always will be. Comcast’s MSNBC and NBC have fought me for years, spending almost all of their waking hours making up Fake Stories — and look, I’m PRESIDENT, with really high Poll Numbers and Great Accomplishments. Good job Brian!
Later in the weekend, Trump told reporters on Air Force One that he was upset because Putin was supposed to negotiate with Zelenskyy, not undercut him.
“I was disappointed in a certain way some of the things that were said over the last day or two having to do with Zelenskyy,” Trump said. “He considers Zelenskyy not credible, he’s supposed to be making a deal with him whether you like him, you don’t like him. So I wasn’t happy with that. But I think he’s going to be good.”
