With less than three weeks before American voters head to the polls, Democrats are vowing to repeal the “GOP Tax Scam” and offer “payouts” to the “working class” should their party retake control of Congress this fall.
According to CNBC, progressive candidates are vowing to rescind President Trump’s $1.5 trillion tax cuts and offer “cash payouts” to those earning under $100,000 per year.
Sen. Kamala Harris unveiled her latest proposal Thursday that would offer $500 per month for middle-income households.
“The idea was to provide a clear contrast with Donald Trump,” said California Rep. Ro Khanna. “You know what you could actually do with this money? You could give anyone making under $75,000 a raise.”
“We must reform our tax code in a way that is fiscally responsible, addresses our long-term economic competitiveness needs and helps working families,” added Rep. John Delaney.

BERNIECARE: Sanders Slams Trump’s ‘LIES’ on Universal Healthcare, Says Plan Will ‘Save Money’
Vermont Senator and self-described Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders slammed President Trump’s “lies” about his Medicare for All program this week; saying the Commander-in-Chief misled voters in a recently published op-ed piece.
Sanders penned his own article for USA Today Thursday, doubling-down on his claims the universal healthcare system would -in fact- save Americans money and lower healthcare costs.
The Senator says Americans have President Trump’s plan on one side and, “On the other side is my ‘Medicare for All’ plan supported by 16 senators and 122 House members. It would guarantee everyone could get the health care they need without going into debt at far lower cost than the current dysfunctional system.”
“Study after study shows that when we eliminate private insurance premiums, deductibles and co-payments, the average American will pay substantially less for health care than he or she currently pays,” writes Sanders.
An independent study released earlier this year predicted Sanders’ potential plan could cost upwards of $32 trillion over a ten-year period; likely increasing after that.

CALIFORNIA SCHEMIN’: City Becomes First in the Nation to Test UNIVERSAL INCOME
A California city is poised to become the first in the nation to issue its residents a free universal income; doling out $500 a month with the hopes if boosting a stagnant economy and failing housing market.
According to Fox News, Stockton, California is set to issue the payments to any of its 300,000 residents living below the poverty line; allowing its citizens to spend the free income on anything they wish to purchase.
The test program is set to launch in 2019 with at least 100 residents enrolled for 18 months. After the pilot program, city officials will decide whether or not to make the policy open to all households.
“The city, which was once known as America’s foreclosure capital, has recently fallen on hard times, with 1-in-4 residents living below the poverty line and the median household income at nearly $8,000 lower than the national median,” writes Fox News.
“It is such a fundamental idea behind America that if you work hard, you can get ahead, and you certainly don’t live in poverty. But that isn’t true today, and it hasn’t been true in the country for decades,” said the Mayor of Stockton.
