According to a New York Post report, President Donald Trump said Thursday he plans to join D.C. police and National Guard members on patrol in the capital this evening.
“I’m going to be going out tonight, I think with the police and with the military of course,” Trump told conservative radio host Todd Starnes. “The National Guard is great, they’ve done a fantastic job.”
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Thursday marked 10 days since President Donald Trump federalized the Metropolitan Police Department and deployed the National Guard in response to a string of high-profile crimes in the capital.
On Wednesday, Vice President JD Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth treated National Guard members to lunch at D.C.’s Union Station.
