A left-wing group going by the name “Ruth Sent Us” is planning protests at the homes of the conservative justices who, according to the leaked majority opinion, have decided to to overturn Roe v. Wade: Justices Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, Amy Coney Barrett and John Roberts.
“ANNOUNCING: Walk-by Wednesday, May 11, 2022! At the homes of the six extremist justices, three in Virginia and three in Maryland. If you’d like to join or lead a peaceful protest, let us know,” the website of “Ruth Sent Us” states.
“Our 6-3 extremist Supreme Court routinely issues rulings that hurt women, racial minorities, LGBTQ+ and immigrant rights. We must rise up to force accountability using a diversity of tactics,” it adds.
The group is inspired by late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who predicted Roe would be trouble
“Measured motions seem to me right, in the main, for constitutional as well as common law adjudication,” she said in a 1992 lecture. “Doctrinal limbs too swiftly shaped, experience teaches, may prove unstable. The most prominent example in recent decades is Roe v. Wade.”
The group is also planning a protest on Mothers Day, according to the groups Twitter account.
“Whether you’re a ‘Catholic for Choice,’ ex-Catholic, of other or no faith, recognize that six extremist Catholics set out to overturn Roe,” the group said on Twitter. “Stand at or in a local Catholic Church on Sun May 8. #WarOnWomen #MothersDayStrike.”

Despite the protests, GOP members are encouraging members of the nation’s highest court to push forward.
“This time around, the Court’s majority must stay the course, and defy the left-wing pressure. In fact, the Court should issue its opinion immediately so that far-left agitators cannot try to obstruct official proceedings,” Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) wrote in an op-ed for Fox News. “Today, the American people know that a majority of the Court believes—correctly—that Roe and Casey deserve to go. Those five brave Justices cannot back down now. We are, after all, a nation of laws and not of mobs.”
“The Court’s very credibility, and millions of unborn lives, hang in the balance.”
