A prominent ‘Never Nancy’ Democrat who recently signed a letter calling for new leadership within the party reversed course this week; officially supporting Rep. Pelosi as the future Speaker of the House.
According to the Buffalo News, “Rep. Brian Higgins of Buffalo reversed course Wednesday and said he will support Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi to be the speaker of the House, delivering a devastating blow to a weakening rebellion in the ranks that aims to oust her from the top job in the incoming House of Representatives.”

“I have an agreement in principle with the Democratic leader that those are going to be two priorities, and that I will be the lead person on the Medicare buy-in,” Higgins said.
Higgins reversal paves the way for Pelosi to become the likely leader of the Democrats when they retake control of Congress in January.
REBELLION DENIED: ‘Never Nancy’ Leader ENDORSES Pelosi for Speaker
A prominent ‘Never Nancy’ leader abruptly endorsed Rep. Pelosi for Speaker of the House Tuesday; shocking supporters and likely ending the progressive “rebellion” against the House Minority Leader.
According to the Hill, “Rep. Marcia Fudge (D-Ohio) endorsed Democratic leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for Speaker in the next Congress in a surprise move Tuesday, abandoning the idea of challenging her.”
“Leader Pelosi has granted me the opportunity to create the record necessary to satisfy the 2013 Supreme Court decision in Shelby County v. Holder, so that the protections of the Voting Rights Act will be reinstated and improved,” Fudge confirmed.

“She has also assured me that the most loyal voting bloc in the Democratic party, Black women, will have a seat at the decision-making table,” she added. “I am now confident that we will move forward together and that the 116th Congress will be a Congress of which we can all be proud. I now join my colleagues in support of the leadership team of Pelosi, [Steny] Hoyer and [James] Clyburn.”

THE RESISTANCE: 'Never Nancy' Democrats Release Letter to STOP PELOSI from Becoming Speaker
At least sixteen House Democrats have signed an official letter this week that seeks to block House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi from retaking the gavel; calling for fresh leadership after the highly-contested 2018 midterm elections.
“Our majority came on the backs of candidates who said that they would support new leadership because voters in hard-won districts, and across the country, want to see real change in Washington. We promised to change the status quo, and we intend to deliver on that promise,” said the statement.
