Delaware Senator Chris Coons got absolutely annihilated by CNBC host Joe Kernen on Squak Box Friday morning for the obvious Democrat hypocrisy on the Signal text story.
Coons wasn’t too thrilled that Kernen brought up Lloyd Austin’s disappearance for cancer treatment or the fact that the Afghanistan withdrawal was a failure — and in each case, nobody was fired or held accountable.
“Did you call for Lloyd Austin’s resignation? Not only did we lose 13 service members but he left $70B dollars worth of equipment that fell into the hands of the Taliban,” Kernen said.
“A couple of years later, he was out-of-pocket for two weeks and didn’t tell the White House — did you ask him to resign at this point?” Kernen asked Coons. “Are you actually asking for Hegseth and Waltz to resign when you didn’t ask for Lloyd Austin’s resignation?”
Coons said Austin did nothing wrong “getting health care” and then proceeded to dodge the Afghanistan question by blaming it on Donald Trump.
“It was a mistake for Donald Trump to negotiate with the Taliban an agreement for winding down the Afghanistan war,” Coons said, adding it “put Biden in a box.”
This party is unbelievable.
