“Rep. Omar, do you have any message for the Covington students after your tweet criticizing them for racism?” asked one reporter at the US Capitol.
“The message I have for them is that in life often there are consequences for the way you behave,” said Omar.
“I also recognize in the way that the video appeared that there was a Native Elder who was intervening… I wanted to hold him in my heart and have a conversation over what hate in this country looks like that is often perpetuated by the inhabiter of the White House,” she added.
OMAR DIGS IN: Ilhan Omar Says Tax Hike ‘Necessary’ to Fund Healthcare, Cancel Student Debt
Rep. Ilhan Omar doubled-down on her proposed tax hike over the weekend; saying a marginal rate of 70-92% on wealthy Americans is a “necessary tool” to finance Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, and student-loan debt forgiveness.
“The #MarginalTaxRate is nothing new. For much of modern history, the rate has been between 70-92%. With wealth inequality at an all time high, this is a necessary tool to lift millions out of poverty, fund #MedicareForAll, a #GreenNewDeal, and cancel student debt,” she tweeted.

OMAR EXPLODES: Rep. Ilhan Omar Says She ‘Chuckles’ When Americans Call Israel a ‘Democracy’
Recently sworn-in Congresswoman Ilhan Omar found herself in hot-water Thursday over renewed accusations of anti-Semitism; saying she routinely “chuckles” when Americans refer to Israel as a Democracy.
Omar was speaking during a recent interview when she was asked to comment on her previous comments that the Jewish State has “hypnotized the world.”
“We still uphold it as a democracy in the Middle East I almost chuckle because I know that if we see that any other society we would criticize it, call it out,” said Omar. “We do that to Iran, we do that to any other place that sort of upholds its religion. And I see that now happening with Saudi Arabia and so I am aggravated, truly, in those contradictions.”
