Controversial Congresswoman Ilhan Omar accused President Trump of “putting her life at risk” Wednesday; asking Twitter to “combat this misinformation.”
“This is from a CBC event we hosted this weekend to celebrate black women in Congress. The President of the United States is continuing to spread lies that put my life at risk. What is Twitter doing to combat this misinformation?” posted Omar on social media.

Omar made national headlines earlier this week when she directly compared ICE detention facilities with African “dungeons” during the height of the international slave trade.
“We arrived in Ghana. One of the first things we did was visit the dungeons. I remember, as we arrived, one of the guides let us into the female dungeon and he started giving us a description of what used to take place as the Africans were being held there as captives,” said Omar.
“Every time he gave a description, I had this flashback to an image that I saw on TV in Libya, where you had Africans in a small room that were now captives. That image was from today,” she added.
“Every time he would talk about the separation of the kids from their parents, and how they would have young girls be in the same dungeons as the women… I couldn’t stop seeing images of the current camps we have here at our borders in the United States,” Omar concluded.

This rhetoric is misleading and dangerous. Illegal immigrants entered the country illegally. They broke the law. That wasn’t the case with slaves. That’s an important distinction. pic.twitter.com/eiwJxE5Zp0

A NEW LOW: Omar Compares Her 9/11 Comments with Famous Bush Speech, Asks of W. ‘Downplayed Attacks’
Controversial Rep. Ilhan Omar stunned Americans on both sides of the political aisle Friday; comparing her previous comments on the 9/11 terror attack with George W. Bush’s address from the rubble of the World Trade Center.
“’The people — and the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon!’ President George W. Bush. Was Bush downplaying the terrorist attack? What if he was a Muslim?” posted Omar on social media.

AOC ERUPTS: Ocasio-Cortez Backs Boycott of NY POST Over 9/11 Front Page
Embattled Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez escalated her war-of-words with the NY Post this week; supporting a national boycott against her hometown paper after they posted a fierce response to Rep. Ilhan Omar’s 9/11 remarks.
“While President Trump repeatedly attacks the New York Times and other purveyors of ‘fake news,’ New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is targeting her own media foe: the New York Post,” reports Yahoo News.
“In a Sunday interview with the Yahoo News podcast ‘Skullduggery,’ the freshman New York congresswoman explained why she is endorsing a boycott of the paper organized by local Yemeni-American bodega owners, calling the Post’s attack on her friend Rep. Ilhan Omar ‘beyond the pale,’” adds the author.
