New York City continued to spiral out of control in recent weeks with the NYPD confirming dramatic increases in murders, shootings, and burglaries across all five boroughs.
Compared to the same period last year, the month of May saw a 79% jump in murder, 64% increase in shootings, and a 34% jump in burglaries.
“The NYPD says its summer all-out initiative is in effect this year, which will have hundreds of officers patrolling neighborhoods that have had upticks in crimes,” reports CBS New York.
Police reform is happening in NYC. Police disciplinary records will be posted online and trial decisions will be made public.

NYC SPIRALS: Giuliani Asks Cuomo to ‘Remove De Blasio,’ Says Mayor Preventing NYPD from Stopping Riots
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani asked Governor Andrew Cuomo to remove Bill de Blasio this week; saying the Big Apple Mayor is actively preventing the NYPD from stopping riots and looting across all five boroughs.
“Gov. Cuomo should remove Mayor De Blasio. He is preventing the NYPD from taking the actions that have prevented riots in the past. Surely, you remember the Gigante report which helped me prevent riots under circumstances of long protests with many attempts to turn them violent,” posted Giuliani on social media.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo threatened to “displace” Big Apple Mayor Bill de Blasio during his daily press briefing Tuesday; saying he would effectively “take over the mayor’s job” after days of riots and looting.
“My option is to displace the mayor of New York City and bring in the National Guard as the governor in a state of emergency, and basically take over – you would have to take over – the mayor’s job,” said Cuomo.
“I don’t think we’re at that point,” he added.
