NY TIMES REPORTER: ‘Destroying Property, Which Can Be Replaced, Is Not Violence’

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.03.20

A reporter with the New York Times Magazine stunned viewers on CBS News this week; bizarrely asserting that looting “is not violence” because “property can be replaced” as violent demonstrations break-out around the country.

“Violence is when an agent of the state kneels on a man’s neck until all of the life is leached out of his body. Destroying property, which can be replaced, is not violence. To use the same language to describe those two things is not moral,” said Nikole Hannah-Jones.

The New York Times abruptly changed a front-page headline regarding the nationwide anti-police protests after multiple complaints from top Democrats including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

The original headline read, “As Chaos Spreads, Trump Vows to ‘End It Now’”.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Ocasio-Cortez responded on Twitter.

“The New York Times headline writers are going to Both Sides the country to death,” Sen. Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii) posted.

“The President is acting like a budding dictator. Headline fail, @nytimes,” Julian Castro tweeted.

The New York Times ultimately caved to the pressure, changing the title to “Trump Threatens to Send Troops into States.”

CHAOS NYC: Rioters Loot Manhattan Stores, De Blasio Describes Situation as ‘Limited Protest Activity’

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.01.20

Rioters smashed windows and looted stores in Manhattan late Sunday night after assembling for citywide protests following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis; a situation Mayor Bill de Blasio described as “limited protest activity.”

“Fox News crews on the scene in SoHo reported hundreds of people stealing from luxury stores – including Chanel and Dior – for hours on Sunday night going into the early hours of Monday morning. The looters were seen piling shoplifted merchandise into vehicles while others rode off with the merchandise in black garbage bags balanced on CitiBikes,” reports Fox news.

“Most of the day we had large crowds throughout the city in multiple boroughs [on Sunday]. But when it got dark, things changed and it changed rapidly,” Shea said on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” on Monday morning. “We anticipated it, but you saw large groups of people had no inclination to all this protest once it got dark, particularly in the area of SoHo between Canal and West Broadway. We had a number of stores broken into.”
