Democratic New York mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani faced a profanity-laced confrontation in Staten Island on Wednesday when a local man called him a “Jew-hating piece of s–t.”
Mamdani has previously defended slogans such as “globalize the intifada” and “from the river to the sea,” telling The Bulwark host Tim Miller he opposed banning the phrases — a stance that drew backlash from Jewish advocacy groups and critics of his position on Israel.
Conservative artist Scott LoBaido confronted Mamdani outside a Staten Island restaurant, hurling expletives, accusing him of hating Jews, and telling him he wasn’t welcome in the neighborhood.
“You are not welcome in this f–king island. You f–king Jew-hating piece of s–t,” LoBaido shouted at Mamdani. “Hey. Mr. Man-dandy! Can I talk to you? You’re not welcome here.”
“You hate Jews. You hate this f–king country,” LoBaido continued.

In a June interview with Meet the Press host Kristen Welker, Mamdani repeatedly refused to condemn the phrase “globalize the intifada.” He also said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would be arrested if he visited New York City and defended the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
