'NOT MY PROBLEM': Biden Says Speaker Fight 'Embarrassing,' 'Not a Good Look'

While speaking to reporters on Wednesday, President Biden offered his thoughts on the fight for Speaker of the House. GOP hopeful Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) failed for the fourth time on Wednesday to reach the necessary 218 votes.

Biden says it’s not his problem.

“That’s not my problem. I just think it’s really embarrassing it’s taking so long,” Biden told reporters.

“How do you think this looks to the rest of the world?” he added. “It’s not a good look, not a good thing. This is the United States of America and I hope they get their act together.”

On Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stressed that the President would not insert himself into the process.

“We’re certainly not going to insert ourselves in what’s happening on the other side of Pennsylvania Avenue,” Jean-Pierre told reporters when pressed on the situation in the House.

“[Biden] was a senator, he understands how this process works, and he’s just not going to insert himself, he’s going to let the process play out and continue to do the work of the American people,” Jean-Pierre said.

“We are going to allow the Republican conference to have their process play out,” she added.
